When I first started this script I got a warm welcome from a nice splash screen and a notice that I am recommended to go through the setup before connecting to some server. Setting the script up mostly takes place in one single dialog (as seen in the screenshot) which is really easy to use and self-describing. It helps you to configure the auto-identify options, away system, balloon tips, game launchers, toolbar and much more. There's also a readme, change log, command list and FAQ in the setup, so if you have a problem you might want to take a look at this.
Most of the features are controlled via dialogs too, which are very well laid-out throughout the script. MDX is used, but you might not even realize it at the first glance because it fits quite well with the rest of the dialog design and is not over-used as in some other scripts.
Now, on to the features.
The script comes with NickServ, Q (for QuakeNet) and X (UnderNet) support. One minor complaint I have is that you can only use the NickServ identify option for use with one specific nick, so if you are on more than one network with NickServ and use different nicks, you will have to use the perform list. You can also tell the script to automatically connect to more than one network on startup, which is quite nice.
Themes are handled by a modified version of KTE. There are over 20 MTS themes which are available exclusively in the script and some others which you can get in our themes section (the default one being "Winter").
The away system is kept simple, there are no fancy colors or anything like that. You can control it via a small dialog and choose from away presets you have added earlier, but using the command line works just as fine.
If you are playing games like Quake or Counter-Strike, you should like the ability to double-click on IPs and launch them right through mIRC or get information like the number of players or your ping to the server in your active window. You'll even find a server browser, but for it to be enabled you'll have to download QStat from www.qstat.org and put it in your scripttools folder.
There's also a "Modules" section in the setup, however, these are not "real" modules, all you can do is disable certain popup entries if you don't like them.
The protections are very customizable too. You can enable text, repeating, notice, ctcp, join/part, mass-deop, advertising and bad word protections aswell as some personal protections.
I won't continue to list all the available features here, because if I did, it would take forever. I can say this script is packed with useful features and also has some fun stuff like PC and IRC stats (which you can turn off if you don't like them).
There are a few drawbacks i noticed, though. Somehow, the automatic X login just won't work, which is quite a pity since I'm hanging around on UnderNet most of the time. I guess I will have to stick with my perform list until the author decides to fix this bug. Also, you should be able to specify different default away/back nicknames for different servers, not just one generic away and back nick. Many of the newstickers are from german sites (7 out of 12), so they are pretty useless if you don't speak german.
All in all, this is a very recommendable script and I expect everyone to try it! :)
