Description:
A full-featured and quite customizable mIRC 6.03 script with complete protections, an away system, a game launcher and much more.

Submitted Review Author's Updates
Review
When I first started this script I got a warm welcome from a nice splash screen and a notice that I am recommended to go through the setup before connecting to some server. Setting the script up mostly takes place in one single dialog (as seen in the screenshot) which is really easy to use and self-describing. It helps you to configure the auto-identify options, away system, balloon tips, game launchers, toolbar and much more. There's also a readme, change log, command list and FAQ in the setup, so if you have a problem you might want to take a look at this.

Most of the features are controlled via dialogs too, which are very well laid-out throughout the script. MDX is used, but you might not even realize it at the first glance because it fits quite well with the rest of the dialog design and is not over-used as in some other scripts.

Now, on to the features.

The script comes with NickServ, Q (for QuakeNet) and X (UnderNet) support. One minor complaint I have is that you can only use the NickServ identify option for use with one specific nick, so if you are on more than one network with NickServ and use different nicks, you will have to use the perform list. You can also tell the script to automatically connect to more than one network on startup, which is quite nice.

Themes are handled by a modified version of KTE. There are over 20 MTS themes which are available exclusively in the script and some others which you can get in our themes section (the default one being "Winter").

The away system is kept simple, there are no fancy colors or anything like that. You can control it via a small dialog and choose from away presets you have added earlier, but using the command line works just as fine.

If you are playing games like Quake or Counter-Strike, you should like the ability to double-click on IPs and launch them right through mIRC or get information like the number of players or your ping to the server in your active window. You'll even find a server browser, but for it to be enabled you'll have to download QStat from www.qstat.org and put it in your scripttools folder.

There's also a "Modules" section in the setup, however, these are not "real" modules, all you can do is disable certain popup entries if you don't like them.

The protections are very customizable too. You can enable text, repeating, notice, ctcp, join/part, mass-deop, advertising and bad word protections aswell as some personal protections.
I won't continue to list all the available features here, because if I did, it would take forever. I can say this script is packed with useful features and also has some fun stuff like PC and IRC stats (which you can turn off if you don't like them).

There are a few drawbacks i noticed, though. Somehow, the automatic X login just won't work, which is quite a pity since I'm hanging around on UnderNet most of the time. I guess I will have to stick with my perform list until the author decides to fix this bug. Also, you should be able to specify different default away/back nicknames for different servers, not just one generic away and back nick. Many of the newstickers are from german sites (7 out of 12), so they are pretty useless if you don't speak german.

All in all, this is a very recommendable script and I expect everyone to try it! :)

Good job greeny!

NoNameScript 4.2 has been released some days ago. It's fully mIRC 6.31 and so Windows Vista compatible! You can get it from nnscript.com as usual.

Rating:     10I thought they would have mentioned it on here, but NNScript has now been updated to 4.1.

It works best with mIRC 6.21 as it was released literally just after mIRC 6.3, but it's being tested and bugs have been reported in the nnscript forums so that it can be made more compatible with 6.3.

www.nnscript.com for all the details. :D

Sadly this scriptteam sold to bigbusiness and thats why you havent heard anything for over a year.
Now half a year ago they said there was updates comin but it never happened.
There are alot of problems and the script is severely outdated now so I cant use it anymore,
but hopefully they update it soon.

Mysterio^May 6, 2007 11:14AM
It's okay.

Könntest aber den Style ein wenig überarbeiten.
Zuviel abstand zwischen "nick" und ":"
Ansonsten in Ordnung.

voksMay 8, 2007 3:56PM
Is German allowed here?

Style ist Theme-Angelegenheit, F11 öffnet den Theme-Dialog, da kann man sich einfach ein anderes Theme wählen, ein neues Theme erstellen oder ein bestehendes nach seinen Wünschen anpassen.

Rating:     9Cool script, great functions, interface & GUI :) Where did the module load/unload go to? I would really like to unload some stuf that i didn't use, can i simply unload 'em?
Btw i use v 4.03 with mIRC 6.21, no noticeable errors so far besides:
- * /window: invalid parameters (line 18, tview.nns) <- when i right click on visual lagbar
- no away status on whois/extended whois (on IRCHighway, used UltimateIRCd it's RAW 301)

suggestion:
- start using hashes instead of variables for faster & lighter script :)
- how about modular services popups according to network, like eXtreme script? and let users upload 'em, if you would provide the template ^.^
- add RAWs 307, 615 & 616 to the theme engine pls (respectively: has identified for this nick, current user modes (if available), & real hostname (if available))

Working here, perhaps it's not implemented in your theme. [F11 > Edit Theme > Whois/Whowas > Away]

hashtables are not always faster than variables, we tested that.

Not possible i think, since i used the default mIRC theme (mIRC.nnt). FYI, i use these addons: BookHelp, Channel Peak, DLFilter, Fast !Seen & ListViewer from http://dukelupus.pri.ee, vPowerGet & vPowerServe from http://vadi.hostiz.com/, and XDCCbrowser. Is it possible that any of them interfering with the script?

Tried that before, and when i try using <nick> on 'em it gave me: Invalid theme format. unknown tags and/or other errors.

Why don't you make the theme engine able to load MTS themes? Would make it far easier, since I already made a private MTS theme :)

Great work gr33ny.

Two thing i would ask for:

1: can u create a module for opers and their commands, i know you have one, but maybe a more thorough one with Admin commands and more oper commands etc.
2: can u create a module to forward WALLOPS to a WALLOPS window, ALL Server Notices, to a server notice window, notices to a notice window, etc etc etc. (if not, can u write a lil code (im useless at scripting mirc atm) for me please and PM me it?
( i know some of these are already in the script) :)

much to ask, but it would put me off using it and go back to Peace and Protection 4.22, heh. :P

*************************************************************
RATING: 8.5 / Would have got 9.5 if these modules were in the script. heh.

I might suggest adding more functionality to the Blacklist feature. I can't choose how it reacts.

Also, in the channel protections, there's no option for nick!*@* banmask. It's silly but some servers actually work that way.

I'd also like to have a visible list dialog for my auto-op and auto-voice lists.

The 4.02 version gets annoying, though. I keep having to refresh that side tree-view bar whenever I get a query, otherwise I click on it and it won't come to the front. The icon also doesn't change until I manually refresh it. Slightly annoying.

"newsticker treeview stuff"?

the password encryption was useless and caused more problems than it solved.

also, the statusbar will be re-added when a mirc 6.17-compatible hos.dll is released.

impuLseMar 19, 2006 4:00PM
Well i use hos.dll for my own purpose and it works very well with mirc 6.17 even with 20 other dlls loaded :P
And if you have selected the option to open an window for every ticker and many tickers trigger at the same time the treeview will refresh a few times in the same moment (did -r, not with an replace or simple did -a)
I think the encryption was useful... but it was even cracked, too.

But expect of these things nice script as before! imo its a 9.5/10 ;)

weird, hos.dll causes mirc to use up 100% cpu and stay in the task manager when it is closed here.
and the treeview uses did -a, you can take a look into the code... =)

impuLseMar 19, 2006 4:35PM
Ohh sorry, tested it and looked at the code it doesnt refresh the hole switchbar but mirc freezes for a short time while reading from some sites together :)
And i put hos.dll in nn-script loaded a simple statusbar with it, closed mirc and nothing happened it didnt stay in the taskmgr (tested with mirc617 and nn 4.02) X_x

i found another little "bug"! if a newsticker (in my case inhalflife inhardware and inquake) checks for an update it will be marked bold (not yet readed). It checks it bold even if there is no new data (and theres no new data posted) and marks it bold :(

and it says
0133 error: Unable to run the file "C:\Programme\mIRC\NN\mirc.hlp".
0133 error: Unable to run the file "C:\Programme\mIRC\NN\mirc.hlp".
0133 error: Unable to run the file "C:\Programme\mIRC\NN\ircintro.hlp".

if i click on the mirc.help in the toolbar (although it runs the file...)

Rating:     10This script is by far the best i ever used. easily 10/10. Version 4.01 is even better. What I love most about this script is the easiness of custumization of toolbars and the over all fantastical looking icons and layout of the UI. I reccomend this version or version 4.01 to anyone, advanced user or not, simply amazing script.

The only thing is 4.01 takes a little longer to load, only by a few seconds, and is not compatible with mIRC 6.17, where as this version (3.81) is compatible (oddly enough).

EmikoMar 27, 2005 10:40PM
All I can say is wow, this is the best script i have ever used that I hadn't made myself. I absolutely LOOOOOOVE it. Amazing work, attention to detail, like the lyrics addon for the music player. Only negative is the mp3 player loads a directory slow freezing mirc for awhile, but wow this script is terrific!

BounApr 11, 2003 7:52PM
The script is quite great, well done and working just fine.
The only missing thing for me is a nickalert. There is a sort of thing like that and sentence with your name are in different colo, but an echo in the active windows would be much much better
something like "[Network][nickname_who_mention_you (#channel_where_it_was_mentioned)]: sentence"
cause whne you talk in an other channel it's a lot easier to see that someone is asking you something else where

Other then that 5 stars :)

if (($chan != $active) && ($activecid != $cid)) {
echo -a NickAltert by $nick on $network in $chan : $1-
