quote:I think this is what the debate was about. That's why they're going to have 2 more. To discuss other topics.
i watched all but the last five minutes or so; i finally got bored with all the questions coming back to the same issues. the moderator definitely needs more practice moderating.
quote:That usually happens when you have a president going for re-election. The opponent goes after his last 4 years in office. Bush couldn't do that with Kerry. Bush also had a lot to defend.
it was obvious to me that kerry was on the offensive, which wasnt surprising. it seemed bush spent the majority of his time defending his actions.
quote:Well the reason they're there is so people can see them and choose who to vote for. I will agree about the cheesy politician lines, but that goes with every campaign.
i was a bit put off at kerry's interjection of his campaign slogan 'help is on the way', which seemed inappropriate given the event was supposed to be a debate, as well as his repeated references to his service in vietnam. bush seemed more candid and honest (not joking).
overall i think kerry used the debate as another platform for his campaign and bush showed up expecting a real debate. i personally feel that bush did a better job debating and kerry did a better job of trying to sell himself.
I think you had your mind made up before the debate, which is fine cause I did too. I don't know how you missed Bush trying to sell himself as well. He was tripped up quite a bit by Kerry and the only real part Bush caught Kerry on was that he forgot to mention Poland. Bush, to me, seemed to repeat himself a lot like he was coached what to say. I thought Bush looked bad and Kerry looked more polished. That might just be though, cause I think Kerry should be the next President and I don't think Bush should even be a Mayor.
