I am newly registered. Browsed the site for many years and used some scripts and snippets... now I found a need to create my own. I hope someone doesn't steal my idea.... or maybe they should as I would not have to write it.
My idea comes form the many "rate" snippets I have looked at. Where you can rate other users in a channel, but those are all lacking some things I wish to use.
I have my front end written already and it works great, its just the compiling of data in a database (txt, ini or whatever will work) that I need help with. MIRC seems to have a mind of it's own and I need to control that somehow.
Basically... A user can "like" another user on the channel - that was the easy part. The harder part comes where I wish to record who likes who, so they can not like a person again, and if they wish to unlike a person it will only remove their entry.
One "rate" snippet I saw would count points which I would like to do as well. Sadly it did not calculate points very well and if you liked 4 people, the 4th person would get 4 points instead of just 1. Very frustrating.
So basically I want the database to look like this:
[liked nick] ## <--- number of points (or nicks who like them)
[other liked nick] ## <-- points
then of course if nick3 wanted to unlike a person, just that entry would be removed, and the points would decrease by 1.
